In the June of 2005 C.A. Phillips contracted Walker Diving to assist with the rehabilitation of Thorne Dam in the Town of Amenia, NY. The scope of the work was to provide, install, and anchor in place a 200 linear ft. by 10 ft. deep silt boom upstream of the crest of the dam. Walker was then tasked with locating the existing outlet works pipe, cleaning of the its pipe and providing a detailed inspection, which enabled the fabrication and means to install a new upstream sluice gate system. The inspection required an excavation of sediment, with debris removal to a depth of approximately 12 feet, working in a water depth of 25 feet. Upon completion, Walker Diving was additionally tasked with providing the sluice gate system, and designing and fabricating a trash rack system to install, all in early summer of 2006.
