Senior Project Manager / Estimator
Walker Diving Underwater Construction (www.walkerdiving.com) is a leading diving and marine contractor based just east of Philadelphia. It has shown rapid growth in the last three years. To continue this growth we are seeking an experienced senior project manager.
This person would estimate, plan, direct and coordinate the activities of projects to ensure that they are accomplished safely, within budget and within the prescribed time frame. He or she would also be needed to estimate or assist in estimating as well as assisting the company in finding work.
Qualified candidates will posess a BS degree in civil engineering or equivalent and would need at least 10 years in heavy civil construction, marine construction experience a definite plus.
His or her duties would include:
- Ability to work and have others work in a safe manner, following company safety procedures.
- Estimating projects of all sizes.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and or site visits with clients to develop work scopes.
- Preparation of Bid Proposal forms including preparation of cost breakdowns, acquiring and analyzing sub contractor bids / quotes.
- Project accounting including budget control, change orders etc.
- Manage projects by developing scopes of work, selecting quality sub-contractors and suppliers, soliciting bids, scheduling work with customers, developing material lists, contractors and in house labor force.
- Review and approve all external correspondence including, submittals, purchase orders and sub contracts. Invoice preparation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects on time and on budget, often concurrently.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently having been given defined objectives.
- Computer skills necessary (Windows, Office). Knowledge of HCSS bidding software desirable.
Travel necessary in the Tri-State / Northeast.
